The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) will form human chains on Monday, stage sit-in on Tuesday and stage hunger strike on Wednesday across the country demanding release of its chairperson Khaleda Zia.
Party’s senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi announced the three-day programmes at a press conference at the party’s Naya Paltan headquarters on Saturday.
The country’s main opposition leader and former prime minister Khaleda Zia landed in jail on Thursday after a makeshift court sentenced her to five years in jail in a graft case filed during the military-controlled regime in 2008.
